The Ancient Magus’ Bride Anime All Details

The ever fascinating upcoming anime The Ancient Magus’ Bride—Mahotsukai No Yome—written by Kore Yamazki, gets a reveal on the main cast, staff, and visual this Friday.

“Beyond the dull walls of cement, deep, deep within the ancient, misty forest, there lies another world. That world is far closer to ours than you might imagine.” This famous opening line of the manga gets its glory in the visual.


The cast of the three-part prequel called The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star’s ( Maho Tsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito) cast returns to voice over the anime. Those people being:

Atsumi Tanezaki as Chise Hatori

Ryota Takeuchi as Elias

Kouki Uchiyama as Ruth

Aya Endo as Silver


The return of the staff of the three-part prequel is quite intriguing. At Wit Studio, Norihiro Naganuma is in charge of directing the anime and the series scripts. Writing and composing the script is Aya Takaha, while Hirotaka kato manages the designs of characters for the animation. Also, Yuko Kobari, in charge of color design, and Yusuke Takeda as the art director.  In addition, Mayo Suzuki holding the spot of the director of photography while Shinya Sugai is the CGI director.  Chie Nishitani positioning in 2D work, and Kumiko Taniguchi supervising special effects; Ayumi Araha credited for special effects. Daisuki Imai in editing, Junishi Matsumoto in composing music, and Flying Dog producing the music collaborating with BASiLiCA. Finally Shoji Hata is the sound director.

The good news is the anime will premiere in October, and it will run for two continuous cours, as in half a year.

The OVAs ran for two-weeks in precisely eight theaters throughout Japan beginning from August 13th, 2016. After it had its glory for a while, the sixth volume of the manga was released in December. On the other hand, the Blu-ray Disc of the anime will be available this winter.

Shochiku started streaming the same video Wit Studio released in March 2016 to promote the manga. However, this time, it holds the date of October instead. As well as it mentions the anime’s limited edition Blu-ray Disc, which will ship on November 29th.
