Kotoko Aihara’s life blesses her newly-built home with a tragedy like no other. It gets wrecked by an earthquake, leaving no trace of it, and no place for her to live in. Thus, Aihara has no option but to live with a man, her school’s smartest, if not Japan’s smartest, student, Naoki Irie. The troublemaker and the klutz, however, knows Irie, which is quite unfortunate for her.

Her past alone with him plagued her with haunting ideas about her never-ending bad luck. That is, she, years ago, gave him a love letter, confessing her love to him. This sealed her fate with a kiss, or rather, in her case, embarrassment. With a group of friends and quite a mother, Kotoko just might have a chance to win the boy’s heart. Maybe it is, after all, within her reach and she does not yet know it.

Koizumi Risa and Oootani Atsushi want to get together with their ideal partners in high school. Risa, a 172cm tall female, is hindered from finding her soon-to-be lover due to her height. Ootani, on the other hand, a 156cm male, is hindered due him being shorter than average.

Upon their first meeting, they realize how their crushes fall for one another, which renders both the protagonist in an era of broken hearts. To add salt to the wound, their homeroom teacher calls them a comedy duo because of their shenanigans. Then again, that just meets they are  more compatible than they think, so maybe there is hope for both of them after all.

Ririchiyo is not fully stripped of that chance, since her childhood friend offered help, taking her as a resident in Maison de Ayakashi. Maison de Ayakashi, a secluded high-security apartment complex, hosts the most bizarre individuals the girl sees. These individuals are half-human, half-youkai. Trouble follows Ririchiyo and begins once she starts residing there, her path is cleared but there lie many difficulties.

What will happen when gods and ghosts no longer exist in mere fairy tales? Brushing off this idea as a mere fairy tale, the high school girl named Tamki Kasuga goes to live with her grandmother. Her grandmother lives in a village, a remote one, Kifumura. Upon her arrival, she is attacked by queer creatures. Then, she discovers her true bloodline and the secrets it contains, rendering her the Tamayori princess.

With this newfound information, responsibility and power befall her in keeping these gods and ghosts at bay, sealed away. Without her and her prowess, these gods and ghosts might go on a rampage and harm the village. Yet, she still suffers from disbelief, but with them following her, the five handsome young men, she just might change her mind.

Kuronuma Sawako, often called Sadako, for her similarities with the infamous ghost from The Ring. Sawako, however, is completely misunderstood by her classmates and by society as a whole. Her classmates label her as Sadako for her scaring demeanor, yet, she portrays quite the opposite. Sawako plays a timid and sweet character, and the only thing she longs for is making friends and having a normal life. What possibly could be so malicious about her?

Sawako, just like any girl, possesses feelings for someone, someone she considers her idol, somehow.  Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, often labeled as 100% refreshing due to his bubbly personality. This draws admiration from Sawako, but what will happen eventually?

Three words and it ruins things forever, set you free, or get you two together. This portrays everybody’s high school’s life, be it bittersweet or mellow. Tenma Tsukamoto, a second year, makes it her job to confess her feelings to the boy she likes. On the other hand, a delinquent with a reputation, Kenji Harima, has himself in a similar situation.

These two, together, they come to a finding, that high school romance is not as easy as it is in the movies. Misunderstandings are a plague they wish to avoid, but it does not obey their wishes. Thus, it leaves them in a situation they cannot wrap their heads around.

Despite her being quite weird and strange, Kobato seems to fit right in with her mission’s requirements. Her sweet and mellow nature shows her sincerity in helping others, which earns her, in return, the love of other people. Yet, she is cursed, as she is not allowed to fall in love with any person she might heal.

Amu Hinamori plays as a student at Seiyo Elementary, earning herself quite a reputation. Her classmates label her as cool and spicy.
