Cancellation Of Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin Films Tv Airings In Japan

Upon its release on August 25, 2012, Rurouni Kenshin live-action films grossed over $36 million in Japan, and over $60 million worldwide as of November 2012. Those crazy numbers are no surprise for a classic with such caliber.

The Manga got itself numerous movie adaptations with the same name. The latest new couple movies were set to air on November 22nd and 25th on satellite channel NECO.

Reasons Behind It:

Alas, here come the bad news. It follows the scandal of the series author Nobuhiko Watsuki, who is charged for his possession of child pornography. Thus, it resulted in cancelling airing of the serialization of Watseka’s new Kenshin arc. Moreover, at such a short time from airing, channel NECO crossed out the broadcast from its agenda.

This particular news was the hot potato on Twitter. On one hand, there lie different opinions, those who agreed with the cancellation. On the other hand, others claimed that the channel went over and above with that cancellation. Lupin III vs. Detective Conan proves itself worthy, as it replaced the streaming of the said show, unfortunately for those passionate about Rurouni Kenshin.
