“I watch it for the plot,” is the lie everyone tells when they watch some fan service. It’s just like people who watch Free! And say they watch it only for the plot. Same thing with High School DxD, which is, presumably, the best ecchi, harem anime out there. However, fans of High School DxD are served with much more content than any other harem anime. It offers a decent plotline, awesome fight scenes, and an abundance of fan service. It has plenty of characters from different varieties, be it traps, or cute kitty girls. 10. Dakara Boku Wa, H ga Dekinai ( So, I Can’t Play H!)
People are deceiving, especially in appearance. You might meet someone who’s cute, or rather hot, and think they sure have it easy. Ryosuke Kaga is basically the fool who’ll fall in the same trap twice. Ryosuke, much to his foolishness, accepted a request from Lisara Restole, a request to drain some of his essence in order to survive in this world, to stay in it. However, Lisara Restole turns out to be A Shinigima, a Goddess of Death.
Despite being a Goddess of Death, Lisara does not drain his essence like any Shinigami would do. No, she does not eat up some of his years. On the contrary, she does much, much more lewd stuff to him, stuff that most teenager boys think about doing. Lisara seems to drink up his ability to enjoy what most teenagers enjoy. Thus, Ryosuke’s journey to return to his to immoral self starts, and the Goddess is not so easy to let him be, after all.
9. Shinmai Maou no Testament
First impressions may determine everything, especially when the person you bump into will join your family all of a sudden. That’s the case of Basara Toujou. He lays out a not-so-good first impression on his new step sister in the bathroom. Then, a little while after, his father declares that he brought home two pretty girls; introduces them. Basara has no other choice but to welcome his new siblings, Mio, a busty redhead and her sister Maria, a petite silver-haired.
The Naruse sisters, however, are not as normal as they seem. The redhead Mio reveals herself as a Demon Lord’s only daughter, while Maria is her trusted succubus servant. Then, Basara, in return, had to reveal himself as a former member of the clan called Heroes, the enemies of demons. However, the so called former member does the complete opposite. So, instead of facing his demon sisters, he forms a master-servant contract with Mio to keep them both safe.
8. Seireitsukai no Blade Dance
Unlike the other anime, Seireitsukai no Blade Dance’s plot revolves around a rather prestigious school for holy shrine princesses that go by the name Areishia Spirit Academy. In this school, girls train to become elemntalists, to form slave contracts with spirits. They use the contracts to compete in battles against each other. Yet, only females seem to have this trick up their sleeve so far.
Then, came along Kamito Kazehaya, normal in every domain except one, he’s the first man after 1000 years to be able to form a contract with a spirit. Thus, this results in the headmaster of the school, Greyworth, to summon him for an enrollment in the school, forcing him to participate in a special tournament.
7. Sekirei
One thing about people is they’re judgmental. The brilliant Minato Sahashi is the one who’s being judged in the anime Sekirei. He’s judged for failing his college entrance exam twice, thus resulting in people labeling him as useless, worthless. Saddened by the bleak, clouded future, his life turns upside down as a being from the sky, a supernatural, beautiful woman falls from the sky into his arms. Musubi, the mystery woman, is a unique one, also known as a Sekirei. Sekirei means a humanoid extraterrestrial along with extraordinary abilities.
The Sekirei sees potential in Minato, Musubi kisses him, thus intiating a bond between the two of them. This simple action turns, truly, his world upside down, as he no longer has a simple life. Now, he fights for survival due to the high stakes the world of Sekirei put.
6. Freezing
Decades later, humanity is facing a huge problem. It is being ruled by an alien race known as the Novas. These Novas only leave havoc and chaos behind them, wherever they go. So, in order to fight them off and hold them off, humanity made some efforts and created fighters called Nova Clashes.
Nova Clashes are young women, also known as Pandoras; young men, also known as Limiters. These are humans implanted with stigmata, an injection to give them very superhuman powers. Nova Clashes are also highly trained in military academies. In order to defeat the threat and save humanity, they must learn some teamwork.
5. To Love-Ru
Confessing your undying love to someone you like can be quite hard and puzzling. The 16-year-old shy Rito Yuuki, he struggles to profess his love to the object of his long-lasting infatuation, Haruna Sairenji. Now, it became much, much harder as a mysterious, stark-naked girl lands right on top of a bathing Rito.
Then, much to his confusion, Rito discovers that the mysterious girl, Lala Satalin Deviluke, is presumably a crown princess of an alien empire. Deviluke apparently ran away from her home, despite her position as the next heiress to the most dominant power in the entire galaxy. In order to avoid political marriages, the unwanted one, Lala is willing to marry the average Rito.
4. Inchiban Ushiro no Daimaou
Akuto Sai’s dreams have always been about changing the world for good. He transfers to a Constant Magic Academy and befriends a virtuous ninja clan member that goes by the name Junko Hattori. They both make vows to make the world a better place together. But, there is one thing Akuto Sai did not except to happen. That being, Akuto Sai’s destiny differs greatly, as he is the prophecy others awaited—he became the Demon King!
Word spread out, and his dream of making the world a better place took a whole new image. It was seen as his own twisted way of saying he wanted to control the world. He loses everybody’s trust, even Junko’s. Surrounded by a harem of girls, showering him with love just to control him, Akuto’s powers awaken.
3. Trinity Seven
At a random day, suddenly the sun stopped shining its light, resulting in the Breakdown Phenomenon. That being the destruction of Arata Kasuga’s town and the disappearance of its inhabitants. However, it’s not all in ruins due to the magical grimoire Arata Kasuga has. He rebuilds the town artificially.
Lilith Asami, an investigator of this so called phenomenon, appears right before Arata and his fracturing artificial world. Two choices are given to him, handing over the book or dying. But Arata chose another reason, a different one completely. He enrolled in a the top-secret magic school Royal Biblia Academy, where six mages await him.
2. Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?
Apparently, in this zombie anime, not every zombie is a monstrous, horrendous, brain-eating type. And apparently, being killed by a serial killer is not the end of your life as it is! Ayumu Aikawa encounters the misfortunes of his life on the same day. He was only walking home, at night, from the convenience store, as he got attacked by a serial killer.
Despite him thinking that was the end of his life, it wasn’t. Brought back to life by a sorcerer that goes by the name Eucliwood Hellsychthe, Ayumu Aikawa does come back to life. Yet, his dreams are shattered as he is no longer a human, he is a zombie! Then, one thing leads to another, and he gains prowess he never dreamed of.
1. Sora no Otoshimono
From his early childhood years, Tomoki Sakurai always dreamt of an angel, waking up with tears in his eyes after. Sohara Mitsuki, his childhood friend tends to worry about this, so she decides to seek help from one of her sources. This source is Eishirou Sugata, a peculiar sky maniac. Much to her disdain, Eishirou links Tomoki’s constant same dream is with no doubt connected to the New World.
The New World is famously known as a floating strange quirk that every scientist has failed to comprehend. Thanks to Eishirou’s suggesteion and scheduling a meet up time to observe the mystery in the sky, Tomoki’s peaceful life changes in a blink of an eye. That’s when a girl from the sky falls and calls him master all of a sudden.
